Got a super cool find on Saturday. Geez, hands shaking still, does that say how awesome my find is? Well I guess some background is in order. I HATE Estate Sales. Despise them. Who really wants to buy the possessions of someone who has passed, or worse is down on the luck?
Sometimes there are some electronics. Often, it is vintage and in some rare occasions midfi or better. On Saturday there was a lowly, carboard box with some cassettes on top. Curiousity got me. Nina Simone, some Beach Boys.....Hey, there are Minidiscs in here!
The first disc I saw blew my mind, and then further and further I went just getting some awesome titles.
Let me toss out a few labels the discs have on them:
Jimi, Stockholm 1967
Van Morrison, Warsaw, May 2001
Talking Heads, August 1983
Led Zepplin, SBD
Allman Brothers, Chicago, June 2002
Pearl Jam, Soldier Field, Chicago 1995
SRV, Freedom Hall UCLA November 1984
Elvis Costello, Vanderbilt U, November 1987
In total there are about 30 discs with labels like this. I wanted to get home and have a listen. Nope, I want to crack open a cold one, and enjoy them alone. I'm going to have to wait a few days till I have the house to myself, but I can't see how I will be disappointed.

Disc Labeling Info
I think I listed some 180+ Discs for Sale today. Whew! It takes a bit more work than I thought. Yes, I am still working on my Content List as I think that would be helpful, but with each disc containing some 15+ songs, and over 1,500 discs, that is an Excel sheet with 22,500 lines of data. It is important to remember that though the discs have been labeled, the discs are what is being purchased, NOT the content.
Here is something I know will be helpful. Definitions of the Disc Labels:
Urban-Hip Hop, Rap. Overwhelming these discs are the Urban beats.
Radio-Discs usually contain a range of music from Hip-Hop, Rock, Country, and Pop. These are the most fun discs in my opinion. There is such a range of music. Whatever was playing on the radio at the date listed, Could be on the disc.
1950s-Doowop music, American Graffiti.
1960s-The end of Doowop getting into Hippie music
1970s-Could be Classic Rock, Disco, Folk. I'm trying to label these guys
1980s-Hair Rock, Classic Rock, Pop, New Wave, Whitney Houston type music
1990s-Sorry haven't gotten there yet.
By popular demand, I am doing some discounting of shipping. For every third auction won, I will ship that for free. Auctions must be won within 24 hours of each other to qualify.
I have been playing around with remotes lately. I have some good info to share on how to get a inexpensive remote solution for your minidisc player. In addition, I think I have settled on what I deem the king of remotes.

1,500 Discs
So, I admit it, I have the 8 track of the 90s. The Mini Disc. I'm a huge fan, but, now I'm at a point where I have amassed too many discs. I think I'm somewhere close to 2,000 discs in my collection. Really, it takes up quite a bit of room. I'm hoping to use this Blog to connect with other MD enthusiasts.
Currently I have some used Discs up for sale on Ebay. First sales were a bit of a let down. .99 and a 1.25 for a batch of six Discs. Geez, I know MD enthusiasts are economical, but really?
So, feel free to comment, ask questions about the sales, and the upcoming discs. I do have the content in a list format, but really, it would be more useful if it was sorted by Disc Number. I'm working on it.
